Viola Collection Mossy Violas Scarf

This flamboyant neckpiece is constructed from layers of frothy hand dyed silk chiffons which are stitched to create a beautiful "lettuce" edging and combined with softest merino wool to create rippling felted surface textures as the wool fibres are applied and integrated into the surface of the neckpiece with a variety of experimental felting techniques.
I hand dye the merino wool fibres at the same time that the silks are coloured to provide a continuity of colour and the imagery formed by this process is focussed and clarified with lines of free machine embroidery
